Norris Johnson II was born on August 31st, 1994 in Waukegan, Illinois. His Father and Mother are Norris and Michelle Johnson, who are the founding pastors of Reconciliation Ministries International (R.M.I). It is here at Reconciliation that Norris is the active youth pastor. He is also a Teacher Assistant at Hope Christian School in Racine, WI. In addition to that, he is a student at Oral Roberts University where he is pursuing a degree in Historical and Philosophical Theology. He currently resides with his family here in Racine WI, and has been residing here since 1999.
Norris was raised in church, and his parents began pastoring in December of 1995, from there Norris was thrusted into an environment of the prophetic and deliverance! There was a strong emphasis on sound doctrine, however the full spectrum of the Holy Spirit was demonstrated to him at a young age. He did not grow up in a particular denomination, or traditional system. As a result of this he was able to experience God and encounter him in a way that was foreign to many of his peers. For lack of a better word, he was weird.
As he began to grow older, he began to operate in ministry at the age of 14 with his father. It was here where he learned how to operate in certain abilities that the Lord gave to him. He would travel with his father as he preached and would assist him as he ministered to individuals. However, as Norris grew older, he began to go in his own way. At the age of 16 he went on a downward spiral that would lead him to a life of drugs, sex, and many other things. Although there was a clear call on his life, it did not stop him from going in this direction. This pattern would last for the next 6 years of his life.
At the age of 18 years old Norris felt a call to preach the gospel. He cannot describe where this unction came from, or why it came at the particular time that it did, he just knows that it was a supernatural tugging. It should be noted that from the age of 16 to 18, Norris had not heard the voice of the Lord, or even dreamed for that matter. It seemed as if God was blocked out to him. However, at that age of 18 during the month of December Norris Preached his first message on Romans 7. From that point on, God began to do a work of separation, everything that he was comfortable in, that could not fit into God’s plan and calling, was systematically removed from him. From environments to relationships, God removed all of it systematically.
However, the struggles and habits that he formed were not over. Norris fell into a deep depression in the year 2014, which drove him deeper into drugs, alcohol, sex, and many other things! While battling these things, speaking engagements were opening up and he was ministering in many places. Through this time, Norris felt as though he saw the hand of God moving on every one except him. He couldn’t understand why he still struggled and battled with everything he did!
In the year 2016, in the month of July, Norris reached a point where he was tired of living a double life, and he wanted to be free from what he battled with for good! He was on the brink of suicide and the Lord kept him from going through with it. So, that Sunday he was in a service and by the direction of the Holy Spirit he stood before the congregation and confessed his faults, and then he felt as though weights were being taken off of him. He felt true freedom for the first time in his life! This was a feeling that simply cannot be described! From there he went on to be open about his faults on all of his platforms. This was the beginning of, what some may call, a rebirth of his life and ministry! Norris went through a restorative process and from there he has had the privilege of spreading the gospel in places he never thought his feet would tread. It was here where the Lord gave Norris his life’s assignment, and that is to “Preach Christ”! As a result, Norris has dedicated his life to Preaching Christ, and Revealing Him to the world!
